The Chris Winters Pancreatic Cancer Treatment Fund

Funds raised to 20th May £16,713
We have a number of folk working to raise funds on our behalf. Please visit their pages and support them if you can.
I am raising money for my dad Chris winters who in November 2013 was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a hammer blow for the whole family!
Since diagnosis dad has bravely undergone chemotherapy and in June was given a date for an operation to hopefully remove the tumor and cure the cancer.
Dad unfortunately awoke from the operation to the news that the procedure had been unsuccessful.
Although this was devastating news dad has looked forward and is determined to fight, Taking the advice of the professionals dad has been receiving a different type of chemotherapy which unfortunately is unavailable on the N.H.S. for dads stage of cancer, thankfully the health insurance has paid for the treatment so far but there is a limit to the funds available.
At the end of September we reach that limit!
This is where we come in I will be running the Birmingham half marathon on the 19th of October to try and raise funds for the gap in dads treatment.
If you feel you can support us please sponsor me however small or large every donation is vital!
Thank you.
In order to raise funds Karen Woodall and a group of community midwives will lead a walk on October 26th from the Princess of Wales hospital Bromsgrove to the Alexandra hospital Redditch .
They will be supported by family and friends who will not only accompany the midwives on the walk but will lead the fundraising effort.
Please do anything you can to support us as we want to raise the funds to help a very special person and his family.

I'd always promised myself I'd do the half marathon in memory of Mom (Chris's Sister Lynne) and if I could raise a little bit of money for Cancer research then all the better. However , I lost the impetus and was considering not going through with it until I heard about the disgraceful behaviour of the NHS ,and their blind policies .... And have regained my resolve to do it in the hope I may be able to contribute in a small way for something real to my heart ! I haven't so much as ran for a bus since my school days, so for me I think it's a sufficiently challenging prospect. I've already asked for donations to be made direct from some if my friends and next week I'm getting started on my work colleagues
