A cunning plan

We met with our oncologist last evening with the results of the CT scan I had on Monday.

I think it was all good news. The tumour in my pancreas has not grown and the nodiules in my lungs are stable too. So it looks like I respond to the Gemcitabine/Abraxane combination.

We developed a cunning plan for future treatment which involves:

  • A PET scan (something to do with radioactive dye) so that we can get a review of whether Cyberknife treatment might be an option. Assuming this is OK we will arrange an initial consultation which would give us a view of the costs involved.

  • A surgical review - I don't really hold any hope for this but I don't want to ignore the possibility

  • Possibly a course of radiotherapy - this might give a bit of respite from chemotherapy - but I would go back on to the Gem/Abraxane regime after that.

We have been gobsmacked by the support we have received with the fund raising over £4,000. We owe a real big thankyou and hugs to everyone that has donated. In times when it is easy to see the worst in humanity it rekindles faith in how good people are.

Thanks!
