The rollercoaster continues. This time with a high that could change all our plans completely.
We asked the surgical team at the QE to reconsider surgical intervention a couple of months back and we met with a professor that heads up the surgical team last evening. He has agreed to make a second attempt at removing my tumour in January. This is the best I could have hoped for a Christmas I thought I would never see.
This is conditional on a good MRI scan that will hopefully show no further spread of the cancer so I'd really appreciate your positive thoughts, prayers, or however you do such stuff to keep things stable. I'm not a religious sort but I do strongly believe that your positive energy can help us.
This follows nearly 6 weeks of chemo/radiotherapy; the net result to date that the tumour has shrunk by about 1/2 centimeter; I'm hoping it may shrink even more.
Thanks to all those that have supported us in this. It really has made a difference to get all of the good wishes and energy.
Of course this changes the position on funding Abraxane; but be sure that if I don't use the funds you have all so generously raised they will go to Pancreatic Cancer Action to ensure some other poor unfortunate gets the benefit.
Heartfelt thanks from me and the whole family go to you all and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Love and Best Wishes
Chris, Lyn & Boys
